Important notice: Variation of terms


Thank you for acquiring TPG Services.

By this web link and the text message we sent to your mobile, we are giving notice of a variation to the terms and conditions under which you purchase TPG services.

The variation achieves the following:

  1. 1. Restates and slightly varies the payment arrangements in relation to charges for usage that is not part of the Included Value in your plan; and
  2. 2. Introduces the ability for you to nominate a different prepayment amount for such charges.

The variation will take affect at least 30 days after the date we sent the text message to you but it will take effect for different services on different days since they may have different monthly rollover dates. The operative effect will commence for each service on the monthly rollover date which first occurs more than 30 days after the date we sent the text message to you.

Variation

With effect for each service from the monthly rollover date which first occurs more than 30 days after the date we sent the text message to you, any provision of our contract with you which has the effect of requiring you to pay to TPG a security deposit, prepayment amount or deposit that is automatically topped up by way of direct debit to your credit card or bank account is deleted and replaced with the following clause:

Prepayment

(1) All TPG services are prepaid.
(2) You must pay the monthly recurring charges in advance. In addition, you must make a prepayment for usage that is not within the included value (if any) for the plan that you have acquired.
(3) You may nominate how much you wish to prepay but the minimum prepayment is $20 ($500 for international roaming).
(4) The prepayment will be debited from your nominated bank account or credit card.
(5) By acquiring and continuing to use the service, you agree to an automatic top up of your prepayment. The top up will occur when the amount of prepayment falls to below $10 ($100 for international roaming).
(6) When that happens, TPG will debit a sufficient amount from your bank account/credit card to restore your nominated prepayment amount. If your usage is high, this can occur more than once per month.
(7) By acquiring and continuing to use the service you authorise TPG to make such debits to your account/credit card and agree that they will occur notwithstanding that you have not had 10 working days to check all applicable Charges before the debit occurs.
(8) If you do not exceed the Included Value and do not incur any charges that are excluded from your plan, there will be no automatic top-ups.
(9) TPG will send you messages about your usage and the debits during the month.
(10) Your service will become inactive if our attempts to debit credit card/bank account to top up your prepayment deposit are unsuccessful. If you do not use the prepayment, it will be forfeited to us when you cancel the service.

The Effect of the Variation

Practically, the variation will not change the way in which your service is currently supplied. It does not change your existing obligation to pre-pay your monthly recurring charge for the included value (if any) in your plan, nor does it change your existing obligation to pre- pay an amount for usage that is not within the included value (if any) for the plan.

In the near future, we will be implementing an automated system for you to nominate a different prepayment amount.
